Conformance Status

We are actively working toward full conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We use automated testing tools and manual audits to evaluate our pages on an ongoing basis and continually improve the experience for all users.

Technical Measures

We rely on the following technologies to deliver an accessible experience:

  • Semantic HTML5 — proper use of headings, landmarks, lists, and native form elements
  • WAI-ARIA — roles, states, and properties applied to dynamic components (menus, modals, carousels, expandable content)
  • Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are fully operable without a mouse; focus order follows a logical reading sequence
  • Skip link — a "Skip to content" link appears at the top of every page for keyboard users
  • Color contrast — text and interactive elements meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio requirement (WCAG AA)
  • Scalable text — all text scales correctly when browser font size is increased up to 200%
  • Alternative text — all meaningful images have descriptive alt text; decorative images are suppressed from assistive technology
  • Reduced motion — animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query
  • Forms — all form inputs have visible, programmatically associated labels and provide clear error messages

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may have limitations. Currently known issues include:

  • Third-party payment form (Stripe) — the credit card input element is rendered inside a Stripe-hosted iframe. We have no control over the accessibility of that element, though Stripe maintains their own accessibility documentation.
  • Embedded Google Maps — the map on our Contact page is an iframe provided by Google. Keyboard and screen reader access to the map itself is limited by Google's implementation.

Accessible alternative for donations: Donors who experience barriers with the online donation form may donate by phone at 678-642-6202 or by mail to Roswell First Responders Foundation, 885 Woodstock Road, Suite 530-550, Roswell, GA 30075. We will provide reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access to all of our programs and activities, including fundraising.

We are working to address or clearly document these limitations as standards and vendor support evolve.

Assistive Technology Support

This website is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver (macOS and iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Browser zoom and text scaling
  • High-contrast display modes
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Switch access devices

We recommend using an up-to-date version of your preferred browser for the best accessible experience.
